If Tom would have been innocent then Mayella would have went to jail for lying. Then Bob would have had to go to jail for lying to. Tom would have never died and would of been able to still be with his family. People would have respected Tom more. Once they saw that he was telling the truth. If Tom would have got shot in the courtroom it would have been a mess up in there. Blacks would have been fighting whites. People would have been running around everywhere and going crazy.
If he would have not tried to escaped prison then he would have still be here. He would have been able to reunited with his family. Atticus would have been a hero. The whole black community would have been happy for Tom. They would have been so proud of Atticus. Then Bob would have had to go to jail.
If Boo would have never been looking out for Jem and Scout. They could have got serious hurt maybe died. If hadn't been looking out the window and saw what was happen then he would have never been a hero. Everybody knew that Boo had killed Bob but they just didn't want him to go to jail.
Nice Job!! To Sidney

Bravery and Courage
I think Bravery is somebody who has a lot of courage to do something that nobody else will do. Somebody who does things that could risk there life for anyone.Means that you are ready and prepared. Courageous is somebody who is not afraid to do something that you are afraid to do. Courageous is somebody who has the strength and ability to do something that they really don't want to. I think Jem is the bravest person in the book. He isn't scared to do anything. All through out the book when somebody would tell Jem not to do something he would do it anyways. He is not scared or worried about getting in trouble or anything. I admire my parentts they always are there for me through thick and thin. They are the best. They do anything for me and my family. They are brave parents and courageous.

Before I Die 1
1. I think Tessa has a awkward relationship with her father. It seems like it was better before she got sick. Even though she knows she sick, she still don't like the way he treats her. I think Cal does feel neglected by their father because ever since Tessa has been sick things are not the same. He is younger and usually the youngest gets a lot of the attention but in this relationship Tessa gets all the attention. He knows about the illness but I don't think he really understand what's going on. I think that she might have an awkward relationship with her mother. Her parents have divorced but, she wants them to be together before she dies. That would be the best thing that ever happened for Tessa. She would be so happy.
2. I think the true qualities of a true friend is somebody who is there with you through anything and everything, never leaves your side, doesn't judge you, trustworthy, someone who can hang out with you and have fun, and doesn't mind doing things that you like to do. Tessa and Zoey's friendship seems weird to me. It seems like Zoey is Controlling towards Tessa. I know Tessa has this list of things she wants to do before she dies but some of these things are not good for her health. If I was here friend I wanted let her do these things. I know she really wants to get them done. She wants to take drugs and have sex. I don't know how there friendship was before Tessa became sick so I can't say if it changed. Tessa father calls Zoey to get her out the bed because she the only one that she listens to. Tessa sees Zoey has somebody she can have a lot of fun with and spend time with before she dies.
3. Tessa doesn't want to return to school because she is sick. She knows that most of the students know about her illness. So if she goes then she scared people will look at her differently and they might talk about her bad. How her family is treating her she doesn't want to go through it at home and school. I don't know how teenagers will act with classmates with terminal illness. I think they should just think about it as them or somebody in their family going through this. Hopefully Zoey would tell them to not saying anything to her. When you talk about her it will make her feel worse.
4. Tessa is really sad that she is about to die and can't do anything about it. She's dealing with this by going out and doing things that are not good for her health but its things to wants to try before she dies. She has a nonchalant attitude because she knows she is about to die.
B. Zoey really doesn't really care about anything but herself. She does whatever she wants. I don't understand why she is acting like these towards Tessa is she is going through this rough time in her life. Soon Tessa is going to die so i dont understand why she acting like that to her.
C. Cal is Tessa younger brother. He really doesn't know what is going on with Tessa but he is trying his best to be nice to her. He knows that she is going to die soon but nobody knows when. I can see that he is really going to miss her when this day comes. They are really close to each other and he is going to take it hard.
D. The mother it trying her hardest to be around more. I don't know how she feels that Tessa is going to die soon but she probably feels like any other mother that finds out her daughter has a terminal illness and doesn't have a lot of time left to live. She is sad.
E. The father is trying to do anything and everything for Tessa. Finding out about this news was really hard for him. He is taking this hard. You can tell he is depressed because the things he does.
Good Job! I feel the same way as you about the book. To Jennifer

The Truth of the Matter: Mayella Ewell
1. Why did Mayella ask him and not somebody else?
2. Where was her siblings?
3. Why didn't they come help her?
4. How didn't anybody see this happening?
5. Did he beat you or rape you?
6. How close are you to Tom?
7. Do you think Tom Robinson was a drunk?
8. Do you have feelings for Tom?
9. Have you ever talked to Tom before this incindent?
10. Did you think Tom Robinson was a nice person?
I think these questions are important because by asking these questions you can clear up the situation and get to the bottom of it. It will help to get to the truth of the situation. It will make things easier to solve.

1930s in America #1
I’m going to talk about the Dust
Bowl in the 1930s. For eight years dust blew on the southern plains. It carried
in clouds storms for hundreds of miles. It came in a yellowish-brown haze from
the South and in rolling walls of black from the North. The simplest acts of
life breathing, eating a meal, taking a walk were no longer simple. Children
wore dust masks to and from school, women hung wet sheets over windows in a
futile attempt to stop the dirt, farmers watched helplessly as their crops blew
away. It last for about a decade. Poor agricultural practices and years of
sustained drought caused the Dust Bowl. Plains grasslands had been deeply
plowed and planted to wheat. During the years when there was adequate rainfall,
the land produced bountiful crops.
The Dust Bowl got his name after
Black Sunday, April 14, 1935. More and more dust had been blowing up to that
day. The Dust Bowl had estimates of over 7,000 left dead from dust pneumonia
and other dust related deaths. 2.5million left homeless, or forced to migrate.
Those who lived through this hell on earth were Dust Bowl Tough.

Independent Reading Unit
The book Before I Die seems like it would be an interesting
book to read. I will choose Before I Die because it is a about a teenager who
is going to die soon. Me reading this book will show me that you should be
happy and thankful for what you have. It will also show me how grateful I am to
be able to walk and talk and be independent. I don’t have to worry about having
people feed me or help me put my clothes on. I don’t want to have my family worried
about me cause the doctors say I only have a few months to live and I don’t want
them being stressed out about things. I think the book is going to be about a
girl who is going to die soon. She only has a couple more weeks or months left
to enjoy her life. She had leukemia. She
is going to make a list of things she wants to do before she dies. For my
second book I would choose Chain Reaction.

I will probably use spark notes or cliff notes the most
because they have the play modern English and I understand it better that way. Cliff notes and sparks notes both explain the
story a way you can understand better. Also on these two cites they have practice quizzes and test which you can go on and practice. They have a summary on each Act. The book Othello is wrote how they
talked back then. The other sites I probably
want use as much.
